I can admit that I am a bit of a hairy beast, so I was in the market for a more efficient and economical hair removal process besides shaving or waxing. After seeing a YouTube review of the Emjoi Emagine Epilator, I decided to purchase the gadget for myself. I am a self-admited frugalista, but I decided to bite the bullet and make the purchase, resolving in my mind that it would be worth the savings of not having to buy disposable razors; which are ridiculously priced I might add, at least for the good quality ones!
I have coarse hair, so my first use of the epilator took me about 1.5hrs-2hrs to complete my legs, bikini area and armpits. I used setting 2 and used a circular motion instead of an up and down motion to be more precise at removing the hair and cover more area. That technique seemed to pick up the hairs better, especially if they grow in different directions. I still had to use a razor to catch the hairs that were missed, but I do like the long term effects of the epilator.
SUGGESTIONS TO EVERYONE using epilation or waxing as their hair removal process of choice; take a pain reliever (as directed on the package and by your doctor) 30 mins. prior, if you have a low tolerance for pain, EXFOLIATE, EXFOLIATE, EXFOLIATE(can't stress that enough), use the epilator on damp skin fresh out of the shower, but not dripping wet (Don't want you to get electrocuted!) and pull the skin taut in the area being focused on. The skin will be suppler and the process less painful. Yes, I said less painful, not painless. There will be some “discomfort" that will feel prickly like an extremity that has fallen asleep, but you will get use to it.

I give the Emjoi Emagine Epilator two thumbs up because it keeps me hair-free for up to two weeks and my armpits don't have that ugly 5 o'clock shadow that they did when I shaved them.
PROS: Hair-free for up to 2 weeks or more, More economical in the long-run than buying disposable razors, More sanitary than razors.
CONS: Gadget is noisy and sounds intimidating, Some pain involved, Expensive, Can take a while to complete certain areas, May require the use of a razor for a smooth finish.
I purchased the Emjoi Emagine Epilator here. Emjoi makes a variety of epilators, in a range of prices, so choose what works best for your needs and your pocketbook.
